There are some days that don’t just stay with you, they shape you. Our wedding was one of those days. Long before GRÁ NUR existed, before we ever imagined building a studio together, there was simply the two of us planning a celebration that felt honest, intentional, and deeply ours.
We approached our wedding not as an event, but as an experience shaped by design, by feeling, by the people we love, and by the simple moments that we will cherish forever.
Our civil ceremony in Edinburgh was the first chapter: small, intimate, and rooted in home. We planned every detail ourselves, creating a day that reflected exactly who we are. It showed us how quietly beautiful a wedding can be when every choice reflects the couple rather than expectation.
Months later, we gathered our closest people in Sicily for a two-day celebration. As a Pakistani–Irish couple, the weekend was a multicultural celebration, blending our families, traditions, and stories in a way that felt effortless and deeply personal. We worked with a local planner who helped bring our vision to life, allowing us to focus on the design, the experience, and the moments that mattered most, while trusting someone on the ground to support the logistics.

Looking back, we realise our wedding wasn’t just a milestone. It became the foundation for how we now design and plan for others. It taught us that weddings can be quiet or expansive, simple or layered, one day or many but what matters most is that they feel like you.
GRÁ NUR was born from that belief.
Today, when we support couples whether for an elopement, an intimate gathering, or a multi‑day destination celebration, we draw from the same principles that guided our own wedding: thoughtful detail, intentional design, and a planning process that lets you be fully present.
Our wedding was the beginning of our story. GRÁ NUR is how we help others write theirs.
